Courts in Cochise CountyÂ
Cochise County’s court system has three main levels. The Superior Court is the county’s general jurisdiction trial court and has six divisions across Bisbee and Sierra Vista. This court handles serious cases (e.g. major criminal matters, serious civil disputes, probate matters, appeals from lower courts, etc.).
There are six Justice Courts that support the Superior Court. Each of these Justice Courts is presided over by a justice of the peace elected to a four-year term. These courts, located in Bisbee, Douglas, Benson, Willcox, Sierra Vista, and Bowie, handle traffic cases, minor criminal matters, and civil cases up to $10,000.Â
Cochise County also has several Municipal Courts. These courts deal with local ordinance violations, traffic offenses, and some misdemeanors.Â
Criminal Records in Cochise County

Criminal record requests are processed through The Cochise County Sheriff’s administrative office. You can request criminal records either in person or by mail. You can also do so by using the Public Records Inspection and Copy Request Form.
According to Arizona Revised Statutes §41-1750, the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) is the main repository for criminal records at the state level in Arizona. This entity provides any interested parties with a fingerprint-based criminal record review process. You can obtain the fingerprint card from the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office or any city police department providing fingerprinting services. Cochise County Arrest RecordsÂ
