There are several options for accessing Coconino County court records:

For name-based searches, online portals are an efficient search method. Even though the eAccess Portal requires registration and fees for downloads, the Case Search Portal enables users to view requests for free. When searching, a last name or business name is required, but the first name is optional. For in-person searches at the relevant courthouse, printing fees may apply.
Civil Court Records
While the Coconino County Superior Court handles all civil cases of $10,000 or more, the Justice Courts have jurisdiction over civil cases of up to $10,000 and all small claim cases that are under $3,500. These courts address issues such as:
- Eviction actions and landlord-tenant disputes (i.e. cases related to rental property conflicts)
- Monetary disputes (collection cases)Â
- Contract violations such as civil traffic violation breach of contract casesÂ
- Negligence actions
- Consumer issues and complaints against businesses.
You can easily find civil court records in person at the Superior Court or at the Justice Courts. Keep in mind that providing a name or case number is necessary to facilitate the search. This is a paid service; if you request copies of civil records at the Superior Court, it will cost $0.50/page, whereas the fee for the search of all records issued at any of the Justice Courts is $28.Â
There are two main portals provided by the Superior Court to view or copy civil court records online:
- eAccess Portal: Here, you can search by inputting the party name, case number, or case event.Â
- Case Search Portal: You can use this to search civil court records by mentioning the name or case number. Keep in mind that while you can view civil court records on this portal, you can’t download them.Â
Probate Court Records
In Coconino, probate cases are handled by the Clerk of the Superior Court. You can request probate court records either online through the eAccess Portal or in person at the courthouse. Please note that you need to register to use the eAccess platform and that you can complete the search either by party name, case number, or case event.Â
It will cost you $10 for every probate record that you download. You can also choose to become a monthly subscriber, in which case the fee will range from $80 to $10,000 per month. While the range of the fees is quite large, it all depends on how many documents you download throughout the month.Â
You can also use the Case Search portal to access probate court records free of charge. In the search bar, you will need to enter the name or case number. To narrow down the search and ensure you get only relevant results, select the “Coconino County Superior” option from the court drop-down menu.Â
Additionally, you can retrieve probate court records copies directly at the courthouse from Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (i.e. business hours). Ensure to provide a name or case number to start this in-person request process. Probate court records copies are $0.50 for each page.
Coconino County CourtsÂ
The court system in Coconino County consists of:
- A Superior Court (i.e. the Coconino County Superior Court located at 200 N San Francisco)
- Four Justice Courts. One of these, the Flagstaff Justice Court is situated in the Superior Courthouse. The others include Page Justice Court, Â Fredonia Justice Court, and Williams Justice Court.
- Four Municipal Courts. These include Flagstaff Municipal Court, Page Municipal Court, Fredonia Municipal Court, and Williams Municipal Court.
Criminal Records
In Coconino County, individuals can obtain their own “background” or “criminal history checks for a fee of $7. You can pay this in cash or by check. However, those who present a Section 8 Housing Authority letter are eligible for a fee waiver.
You can request your personal criminal records both at local police offices as well as at the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office. The Sheriff’s Office provides criminal records in three main ways:
- Online
- Via mail (if you prefer this method, you will need to complete the Background Check Form)
- In person at the Records Unit located at the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office, from Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.Â
Criminal Court Case Lookup in Coconino CountyÂ
Coconino County Justice Courts handle various types of misdemeanor cases, such as
- DUI
- AssaultsÂ
- Underage drinking
- Check fraud
- Criminal traffic offenses
- violations of protective orders or harassment injunctions
Also, certain Justice Courts hear felony cases.
The Superior Court in Coconino County, overseen by the Clerk, adjudicates felonies, misdemeanors, and criminal appeals from lower courts such as the Justice and Municipal Courts.
Both the Coconino County Clerk of the Superior Court as well as the four Justice Courts provide criminal court records copies that can be accessed in person at their courthouses. Use the eAccess Portal or the Case Search platform to access criminal court records that are kept by the Superior Court. When using the eAccess Portal, you will get downloaded criminal court records after you provide the relevant details (e.g. party name, case number, or case event) in exchange for a fee. However, remember that you also need registration to access the eAccess portal. If you prefer using the Case Search portal, then you can view criminal court records for free, just input the name or case number.
Arrest RecordsÂ
Coconino County arrest records document individuals taken into custody based on probable cause of criminal activity. These records, maintained by local law enforcement agencies, generally include:
- Personal information (name, DOB, physical description)
- Arrest details (date, time, location, charges)
- Booking information
- Court-related data
While mostly public under Arizona law, some records may be restricted, such as:
- Ongoing investigations
- Juvenile records
- Sealed or expunged records
The Sheriff’s Office also offers public access to Coconino County arrest records. If you want to access these records, call the Coconino County Detention Facility at (928) 226-5200. Then, choose the menu language (1 for English, 2 for Spanish, 3 for Navajo). Then, choose option 1 if you need access to Inmate arrest records or select option 0 if you want to talk to the receptionist.
Arrest records can remain on file for up to 99 years. However, retention periods may vary based on circumstances.
As of December 2022, eligible individuals can petition for record expungement under Arizona Revised Statute §13-907, which may remove references to the record from public access. To begin the expungement process, download and complete the Petition to Seal Criminal Case Records (AOCCRSL1F Form).Â
When it comes to arrest warrants in Coconino County, keep in mind that they:Â

Only those who are 18 or older can successfully obtain a birth or death record in Coconino County. Below is a list of the eligible entities that have the right to request birth or death records in Coconino County:

- Healthcare providers (e.g. hospitals, healthcare institutions)
- Legal professionals (i.e. attorneys representing adoptive parents in adoption proceedings)
- Responsible parties (i.e. individuals in charge of final disposition)
The Coconino County Health and Human Services (CCHHS) provides birth and death certificates in three main ways: in-person, online, and via mail. Vital records of birth and death in Coconino County cost $20 each. It is important to note that the CCHHS also partners with a third-party vendor to ensure a consistent public availability of vital records. The third-party vendor charges additional processing fees on top of standard copy fees. You can pay these charges with different types of cards, including Visa card, MasterCard, or debit card.Â
If you choose to request via mail, you should submit a completed Bureau of Vital Records Request form for Death (English or Spanish) or Birth (English or Spanish) Certificate to the Coconino County Health and Human Services. Ensure your mail package has all the required items, such as:

- A clear photocopy of both sides of your valid government-issued photo ID
- Documentation proving your eligibility to request the certificate

In Coconino County, dissolution of marriage and divorce records are synonymous. These records are available online and in person at the Superior Court. Two online portals exist:
